Sightseeing in Canton city, Ohio will unfurl the city of Canton with all its glory before your eyes. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is the National Football League. It opened with 17 charter inductees in the year 1763. This is exciting and interesting for the sports enthusiasts. There are two levels in the building displaying interesting exhibits. Upon entry you will come across the exciting exhibit of The First Century of Pro Football. The museum tells the story of pro football of the early days and the pro football of the present day.
In the Enshrinement Gallery the inductees include great footballers like Gene Hickerson, Thurman Thomas and Bruce Matthews. In the first level of the building Game Day Stadium, Super Bowl Room, the Enshrine Mementos Room and the African-American Display are located.
When you are moving to the lower level you will come across a bronze statue of footballer Jim Thorpe. Jim Thorpe was the first pro-footballer who played with Canton Bulldogs. In the lower level there are EA Sports Display, Snack Bar, Fans Interactive Exhibits and the Museum Store.
Visit the McKinley National Memorial, another attraction of Canton. It is the place where William McKinley’s final resting place. He was the 25th president of USA. McKinley lived in Canton, here he practiced and conducted political campaigns. In 1905, on 6th June the construction started. Among 60 designs the design of Harold Van Buren Magonigle was selected.
Also visit First Ladies National historic Site in Canton was established in the year 200 with the aim of preserving the memoirs of the First ladies of USA. Ida Saxton McKinley, wife of President William McKinley’s home is preserved here. There is a gift shop and museum within the site. National First Ladie’s Library along with National park Service manages and operates the site.
